about

Down That Road is a song about feeling like you need to suppress who you are because others won't approve.
This song, unlike the other ones, was recorded in a single track (apposed to two tracks recorded separately) to make it feel more live and in the moment. The "Woo!" at the end of the song is the genuine reaction Sam and I had when we finished recording that song because we were done with recording for the album.
I ended the album with this song because I feel it leaves things on a positive end, almost open ended, in a way where the listener can decide to take their own path after the album is done instead of being stuck in the past. Maybe even I can too.

lyrics

May I be
anyone else but me?
I keep going to the store
where I don't fit in anymore.
Maybe I should complicate the social order,
maybe I should march by myself.

Walking, I was walking down that road.
Your footprints, I learned, are what I used to know
that blending together only makes brown.
It's time to find a new type of sound.

I try hard and aim to be
someone who resembles me.
Five different personalities.
I need to know who I believe.
Maybe I should pick one and follow the river.
Maybe I should be someone else.

Walking, I was walking down that road.
Your footprints, I learned, are what I used to know
that blending together only makes brown.
It's time to find a new type of sound, sound.

Who do I believe?
Who do I believe?
Who do I believe?

Walking, I was walking down that road.
Your footprints, I learned, are what I used to know
that blending together only makes brown.
It's time to find a new type of sound.
